Pros and cons of Japan Subway Route Map (Tokyo Osaka Nagoya) app for iPhone and iPad
Japan Subway Route Map (Tokyo Osaka Nagoya) app good for
I have been wanting a travel size map of Osaka without having to use the Internet!
I know its a subway application but I think adding the other train lines would be invaluable! JR, hanshin, keihan...
It would definitely be worth double the price then!
Thanks for the great application!!
Kanji and romanization, and big enough to read. Clear format. And nice to have Nagoya and Osaka too!
I recently updated my version of the Subway Route Map and was pleasantly surprised to find the JR norikae info and car/exit maps had been added. Thank you! These features are quite helpful--and the easy-to-use UI helps, too.
This is a great app for the Nagoya Subway! You also need to add the Meitetsu Line especially from the Centrair Airport! If you want this app to help out tourists you might also add points of interest at each stop.
Does not work after I upgraded to iOS 4 on iPad.
APP sold for 3 regions, but only see Tokyo. I can go to settings & switch to Nagoya & Osaka, but going back to APP shows only Tokyo? If ur going to only Tokyo this might work for you.
Ok, after a little research you can switch regions. Double click the Home button. Press and hold the icon & when the "-" shows quit APP. After doing so you can go to settings & change regions.
Not user friendly, but it works.
Some bad moments
Gee, the app is almost perfect but, the map is missing VITAL information; Each line of the subway is designated by a letter. Printed maps show the letters of each line at each stop. Printed maps show mutiple letters at crossing stations (helps when you need to transfer)
This "stupid" app only shows a grey square with black circle with no lettering! You have to scroll and scroll ..what a waste of 99cents!
The app is extremely minimal. Includes a zoomable picture map (I can download an image if thats all I needed...) and a list of the various lines with accompanying stations.
There is:
No route calculation (i.e. transfer points, cost, etc).
No station info (maps, exit numbers, etc).
Map is not interactive (cant select stations).
Call me picky, but these are pretty standard in most subway map apps.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
It dose not include JR rail and that is important for most users trying to get around Tokyo. It should include lines like Yamanote etc that are listed in the Jordan web or app.
Also the map is slow to zoom load and really needs to have touch links to rail lines, that would make it useful as now its just education.
Hope the finish it properly soon
You can switch between Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, by going to Home / Settings / scroll to the bottom and select Subway Map / Region.
Looks good. Does not work. Perhaps not compatible with IOS4. Region change does not work. Cant access functions. Just not tested enough. Go back and fix it before you sell it.
Just for Tokyo.. And it didnt help at all. There is no search option neither directions.
